The purpose of this Handbook is to provide general information to job applicants and employees regarding the rights and protections that individuals with disabilities have under Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 U.S.C. § 12101) and Oregon state law (ORS 659A) regarding reasonable accommodations and disability-related employment discrimination. This edition addresses how the ADA protects qualified people with disabilities from discrimination in employment. It also references state law, when it is different from the federal ADA. This Handbook is not a substitute for legal advice. Federal and state law can change at any time.
